It has been fun going back and forth with artist Claudio Parentela. Mostly because his passion for his work is off the charts and energetic (as is his work), but also because he doesn’t speak English very well and I always find that cute, which probably means I’m an idiot. The 49 year old Parentela lives in the ancient Magna Graecia in Italy where he “paints, always, everyday, all the time”. What does Claudio want with his work? “I desire that my artworks will travel in the always new, unknown world. I pray everyday for this and I put in my artwork secret prayers, sure. I can listen to all the thoughts and voices of the entire solar system…Oh, and I love fashion.”
If you didn’t just fall in love with him, THEN SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOU! His work is just as sporadic as he is, in the best of ways. Continue reading for more amazing statements from the artist and to see his work.

“When I paint I always listen too so much music, I listen to it all, I read all. I like the strong contrasts, but also soft, fuzzy, undefined contrasts. I like to play with my feelings, with others feelings, to color them with weird moods, photos, paints, and mix them always in new ways, in new bodies.”
